"Acclaimed Malaysian film and advertising director Yasmin Ahmad has passed away at 11:52pm Saturday night at the age of 51, after collapsing from a stroke at a media presentation the day before. She leaves behind a legacy of film that captures the modern multicultural spirit of Malaysia, winning international festival awards and local hearts while at the mercy of conservative censors."
taken from http://www.metafilter.com/83579/Yasmin-Ahmad-1958-2009
althought i've not a favourite fan of hers, but i do watch a few movie and know about the history of a great woman that inspired a lot of talented talents in Malaysia to test and push their limit in this struggling industry where sensitivities are everywhere from every aspect of our lives.
Thank you for what you've done for Malaysia and for the younger generation. :)
RIP and condolences to the family of Yasmin Ahmad. She is a great lost to us as well and to Malaysia.

rich n powerful vs justice
well, this is pretty interesting topic while i was having breakfast one day with my sis, she mentioned about what will you choose to describe the current society today. well, my take to this would be, the rich and powerful does make the work a little chaotic as it is today as we see it. From what i see there are a lot of losers in our community today, to be cunning, to be merciless and to be worthless human being that would do anything to achieve their goals, turning them rich and powerful...but is there justice in this world that would stand in their way which i always would think that what comes around goes around. Just that we don't really see it as they come swinging by the door and thus continuing on doing what they do best.
is it fung shui? or it is just revenge of life that comes knocking on your door? sometimes some people just lost the conscious to just pursue that path for their life...i wonder...
time to knock out for the day...will continue to ponder further in the mystery of my life as i am wondering off again to search for my directions again. wow wee. this is gonna be more fun than last time around. wish me luck

what the f*ck is wrong...
well, things started off pretty good in my new environment in my work, i'm not sure if it's me or what, why the catastrophe always comes near where i feel comfortable. i love my current job, i am enjoying the parts and bits of what i am doing, but why does someone else in the same boat have to rock it and make turbulence. what the f*ck is wrong with these ppl. Don't they have grace, don't they have a brain, don't they have the urgency of profesionality, don't they have courtesy so say sorry when they are wrong.
what they have are the blood stain ass of pride and mannes ego that is so big that clouds their mind and judgement. i always thought that woman take a little more effort to comfort and please, but then only i figure out, ass wiping men are worst, they are like babies with their napies and don't even know what is the meaning of self esteem, to chase after the life that dreams can only come true if they work harder, but no, they decided to push pen around rather than figure out how it works. Never in their lives that they thought that with a little more effort, just a little more, they can achieve more than the average push cart fella stacking trolley in the mall. Maybe those ppl can do better in their job than those of my known crowd. Go cry to your mommy and daddy, work is cruel, life is cruel, survival of the fittest wins and i intend to win, i am no loser in life and i don't plan it to be so. Don't make me lift my finger as i don't intend to. But don't make me, once i do, there will be no more honeymoon for you, ever....i promise...

2 weeks into my new job
well, this is the question most people would ask when you jump over to a new company, how's your job?
All i could say is that i got to hit the ground running on the first day. Attended my first sales meeting aat 10am when i stepped into my new office. Did not have the luxury of even build up the relationship with my chair, i had to have fun in the meeting room. After sales meeting, two different principle came n has their product briefing, looking that i did not have my laptop as it has not been delivered, it fit the day's schedule nicely.
Then on the 2nd day, my boss is urging me to call my clients that is on the list that he gave me. But i did not manage to as i did not have the confident yet to setup any appointment for such meet up yet. So i dig into those product sheets and started to do my reading. That went on for a few days where i picked up my bread and butter.
With my laptop coming along later on, which is a Dell studio 14.1" lappie, well this little bugger is packed with performance as it comes with a free upgrade to 3 gig of RAM. Was thinking of my boss would give me a Dell mini, that din happen..muahahahaha. They got me a black unit, which they lied saying mine is going to be a pink one, i am okay with pink actually, a bit macho also right having a pink lappie..lmao. (i lied, phew it is black)
2nd week was a packed schedule due to the vendor of the product (Imperva)that i am incharge with, came down from SG to provide Technical Training and Sales training. Alvin is APEC sales director, which me and Sam has made plans for this visit for 3 days to visit. Well, anyone of you guys would have guess what i have been doing then. Despide all the tiring trip driving around in KL and PJ, i had a great time learning and sharing with Alvin with the product, his experience and his teaching.
2 weeks has passed and i'm more clear of my focus on the job. I might use another week to pick up the other product that i'm incharge with. Soon, i'll be out hunting.
Need loads of leads, will come cold calling all of ya. :p

now it's complete
well, some of you might know that i bought a set of 5.1 THX surround PC speakers a year back, it's a logitech z-680 (full review here). Well, what bugs me the most is that it comes with 5 satellite speakers, front left and right, back left and right and a center speaker. A big arse sub woofer that can blow ur house down and a control pod, that sits nicely on the floor as a little table top.
Like all 5.1 speaker set, the two back left and right speakers should be at the back, as they are suppose to be, that's why ever since i've purchased this set of speakers (got it 2nd hand from a lyn member @ RM650) i have been searching high and low for a stand. And finally, before christmas, a seller pops up wanting to sell his ikea gaje speaker stand which is highly sources in the market by some amateur users. Well, the seller has 2 pairs, and i only needed a pair, in the process of getting the deal i asked to take both n then worry about the left over pair later, which it didn't took me long to get a seller for it, my fren Johnny. :)
Happy as could be, i tried it out the instance i got my hand on it, trying to fit my rear speakers onto the stand, due to the reason that the way that it is holding the speaker uses velcro's, but the previous user has already used up the velcro, leaving me thinking of a way to afix my speaker onto the stand as the bottom of the speaker is a litte rounded bulged. And with the 3m velcro that i had on me didn't really work as i thought it would. A slight earthquake will tumble my speakers falling 2 feet to the ground, something that i can't risk. (the pic below is showing half the actual high)
As i was looking into material that i could afford n save me time and fuss to get it down with, i came up with using arcylic.
Woke up early one saturday morning and made my way to Jalan Pasar to this famouse acrylic shop where all lyn members recommended. Sorry that i din take a pic of the shop cause it was a pretty hot morning and i wish to go in fast and run the hell out of there in a jifty. Ordered a 200mm*100cm*10mm acrylic. Took them 10 min to get it cut it and off i go happily.
After that, i went back to my office the following after measuring the holes that i need to drill. A lesson that i learn drilling acrylic is, slow and steady, don't rush on it, cause it will break if too much pressure is put upon it. And this is the modification that i have done with some added bolt and nuts.
and now it's complete :)

Movie - Rockin Rolla
Watched this movie a few weeks ago, sorry for the late post, well i guess this movie is not going to make it to the big screen in Malaysia, due to the amount of things that can be censored according to Malaysia's censorship board, therefore, try to download it from you know where, else, you could get it from me.
The movie is about the family of mobs which trick each other, using way to get money, a family affair problem and a hidden spy among them. What i fancy about this movie was there's a guided voice, not sure whats that called, it narrates the plot as it goes on. At least the representation of it was pretty okay. Quite a strong cast and hell a lot of swearing.
mike's rating of 7.8/10. worth watching.

In these trying times...
Well, as the world in walking into recession day by day, news of fellow friends or friends of colleagues falls victim to the slowdown that is being felt in every inch of the face of the earth, disregard those that are already in gloomy days where living for another day would be a question in their lives.
Let's all work harder in these trying time, some has received notification letters of in event of low jobs in hand, he/she will be deemed to salary cut or say bye bye...well, that's not all good news, or bad, that's why, let's all work our way out of this.
ganbade!

Valentines day...
a day of expensive flower and chocolate, a day where the restaurant will only serve only one special dish, the valentines special...
well, how did this day become so commercialize? This is suppose to be a day where love fills up the air, and relaxed and be happy with, not a day where it burns a pocket in your wallet and your other half have to work double working hours just to pay for that meal that meant so much. are we spoiling the mood of this special day or commercially they are cannibalizing on the advantage of it. sigh.
well, my way of celebrating would be normal as usual, not really celebrating, we exchange gifts, now i have to think about sorting out the dinner. this is gonna be a challenge. what shall i cook? well, until now, i have no idea. all comments welcome on this if you read this in time to save me that is.
will update when the day comes.muahahahaha..i'm screwed

Year 2009 and the beginning
Year 2009, first post
hehehe. it's been a hectic new year and a new year has come rushing into everyone's mind that this will be a struggling year for everyone as the economy of the world start to crumple as the existing financial and production industry fall into the gravel. A lot of ppl has lose their job and are now thinking what to do next and what will be the driving force for them in life to put simple meal onto their table at home. Well, grieve as it can be, but for me, i would always believe that everything is destined to happen sooner of later, don't grieve but to stand up against it and use all your might to overcome the negativity that looms over us at this testing times.
Beggers can't be chosers, i always believe in that phrase, if you are already down at the bottom of the gravel and unable to even make much moves or choices, but why still you are holding up your priceless pride and manly ego, and not bow down to accept the fact that to get your hands dirty is the only way to go on, rather than just sit there, looking at the ceiling wishing to the heaven for hope and prosperity? In this tough testing time, we have to change our way of life, for the better, for the better you and the build a future you. i know am changing as we speak, but are you...i wonder...

2008 coming to a close
2008 been a year of many incident, personally and globally. Well, the puny me can't make much of different to the global happening, but personally, it's a fun filled year. A year of exploration and a year of getting to know more of myself while i grow older and to lookout for newer things in life. Life is never easy, unless your born with a golden spoon, even so, their life ain't easy, looks easy, but they have other things to worry as well. Guess no one is perfect, as one once says, if things are perfect, there's nothing else to do in this world anymore. Well, it's half right and half wrong. i am not siding either of them, so let's move on.
sharon asked me what's my most memorable moment in 2008 as the radio DJ asked one of the artist on air last evening, to me, the most memorable event was my trip to HK recently. Was a great experience having my holiday with my gf sharon, learned a lot of things about her during this trip, well, relationships are all about learning to be with each other, and there are times where both of us are not talking to each other, even on a trip, well, we manage to find the balance between both when we are not in the liking of a decision, personal views and all, but hell yeah, we have been through it and we manage to deal with it as a couple, i dare not say that we will never argue or fight over things that we believe in, but it's the negotiation and tolerance that we have inside of us that pulls us together, another year has pass and marking another year that we have grow in living together. And amen to that, i still love her as much as i loved her from the day we have decided to be together.
2008 is a year of success in my career, and 2009 is a year of challenge. A choice has been made and moving on i have. so best wishes to everyone that i know and for another year has gone pass and welcome another year to come. Watchout and be careful while we usher the new year tonight. take care and have fun. :)

In between by Linkin Park
This song is featured in their newest album "Minutes to Midnight"....while i was ipoding while i was writing my doc. I felt a sudden rush of feeling of my frustration. and here is the lyrics to this magnificent song
inkin Park In Between Lyrics
Songwriters: Bennington, Chester; Farrell, Dave; Shinoda, Mike; Delson, Brad; Hahn, Joseph; Bourdon, Robert;
Let me apologize to begin with,
Let me apologize for what I’m about to say,
But trying to be genuine was harder than it seemed,
But somehow I got caught up in between.Let me apologize to begin with,
Let me apologize for what I’m about to say,
But trying to be someone else was harder than it seemed,
But somehow I got caught up in between.Between my pride and my promise,
Between my lies and how the truth gets in the way,
The things I want to say to you get lost before they come,
The only thing that’s worse than one is none.Let me apologize to begin with,
Let me apologize for what I’m about to say,
But trying to regain your trust was harder than it seemed,
But somehow I got caught up in between.Between my pride and my promise,
Between my lies and how the truth gets in the way,
The things I want to say to you get lost before they come,
The only thing that’s worse than one is none,
The only thing that’s worse than one is none. And I cannot explain to you,
In anything I say or do or plan,
Fear is not afraid of you,
But guilt’s a language you can understand,
I cannot explain to you in anything I say or do,
But hope the actions speak the words they can.For my pride and my promise,
For my lies and how the truth gets in the way,
The things I want to say to you get lost before they come,
The only thing that’s worse than one is none. For my pride and my promise,
Between my lies and how the truth gets in the way,
The things I want to say to you get lost before they come. The only thing that’s worse than one is none. (3x)
Enjoy.

Okay, news from Fomula1
Well, i think a lot of ppl might already know that Hamilton won and Massa was second, while Kimi came in third after a pit stop switch to have Massa take the chequered flag in 2nd place. Now all teams will head to Brazil to the final round as Hamilton has a commanding lead of 7 points. he could just take 5th to win him the driver's trophy and being the first black and youngest driver to win a championship. Well, by just doing so, that means Mclaren will be conceding their constructor's to Ferrari, something that they have to wary about how they are going to play the game of putting their car as Heikki is a bit of a disappointment lately of a few DNF forcing Mclaren to only have Hamilton accummulating the points. So, let wait for the finale on the 2nd of Nov to see who is crown the F1 driver champion for 2008. :)
i put my bet on Massa...hehehe

Wrapping up the sports weekend
Liverpool equal the top with a win @ home against Wigan 3-2. Two goals from Kuyt, where they trail 2 goals before claiming the win. Well, my heart almost popped out cause the leader Chelsea pounded Middlesbrough 5-0. And they seems to be quite fit and soon, the big game will come when both of them clash in the coming weeks.
All hail Kuyt this week. Hopefully Robby Keane will start some scoring escapade soon. com'on Keane...
Another event to follow is the Shanghai formula1 championship, second to last round of the 2008 formula1 championship, due to the driver scoring to be so close, there might be a winner in this race, else it will be determine @ the last race in brazil.
The Driver Score at the moment.
01 | Lewis Hamilton | 84 |
02 | Felipe Massa | 79 |
03 | Robert Kubica | 72 |
And the constructors standing
01 | Ferrari | 142 |
02 | McLaren-Mercedes | 135 |
03 | BMW Sauber | 128 |
Well my money would be on Felipe Massa, and even alonso vow to help him if that chance arise to let him pass and for him to gather more point to notch up Lewis Hamilton for the crown. Personally, i never liked Hamilton, he's young, fast, but too arrogant and too stupid sometimes. I've seem ruthless driving before in the schumacher era where schumacher will run anyone down for that matter, but Hamilton is just a different case. Robert Kubica could be acting like that Kimi did last year to come from 3rd of the standing and then snatch a win @ the end of the championship, but then, Kubica is starting out of the top 10 placing due to a setup problem during qualifying hence dropping him of the Q3 qualifying. A lot to watch for when the race start around 2pm today.
The starting grip for today's 2008 FORMULA 1 SINOPEC CHINESE GRAND PRIX
1. Lewis Hamilton Britain McLaren-Mercedes 01:36.303
2. Kimi Raikkonen Finland Ferrari-Ferrari 01:36.645
3. Felipe Massa Brazil Ferrari-Ferrari 01:36.889
4. Fernando Alonso Spain Renault-Renault 01:36.927

Birthday gift 2008
Well, this is an extremely late late late super late posting, reason is i was lazy to take out my camera to take a shot at it. hehe. finally i did and i found the time to put it up. :)
As you could see in the picture that it's a Parker pen, and this no ordinary Parker pen, as it's from that someone special and it has my initial engraved on it.
This gift came to me quite surprisingly as i have already hinted to sharon that i'm okay if i don't receive a gift this year due to the plan that had to go to hong kong for our trip which will cost us both a fair bit. But with this i was given a surprise, i loved it. Although it's just a simple gift, a gift that didn't cost too much, but yet, it symbolise the love, attention and care that she could show to me, even when i insisted that i'm alright without it. Inside the secret comparement that the box has, there's a little note inside, well, i'm not going to publish that note. Well, some of you might just fall flat on their face if i do, but then, i rather kept it to myself. muahahahaha. *warm.
Thank you baby for the gift. i love it a lot. i'll have it carry with me all the time that i could.
my initial on it. :)

running over stuff
not sure if it's a sign for me to drive slower lately as i saw a few indication of very dangerous emergency breaking of cars in front and even those besides of me. well i did not really have notice them until i sort of knock off the toll gate barrier stick this morning. Well, i blame it on the stupid technology that they use for the toll gates. During peak hours, traffic increases and therefore the line up, and the purpose of getting a smart tag is all about not winding down your window and queue. But there's a lot of times when some rich kid/uncles, who do not maintain their unit, which causes jam on the fast smart tag lane. Other than that, what happened this morning is that the barrier did not response fast enough when i pass through it and whoop, off it went swinging to the sides. it's not entirely my fault as my unit was scanned and money was deducted....why can't malaysia do it the SG ERP way, there's good and bad about it as rumor says that the ERP emits hell a lot of radiation as it's pretty powerful to detect even fast passing cars. Singaporeans die faster i guess...Best still if all road are toll less...that day will never come. just hoping now more doesn't come up.
